Oh, October. You are the last month before the holiday madness begins. Goodie, goodie gum drops. Each year we spend more during the final 2 months of the year than we do in the other 10 months. From a mompreneur perspective this shouts MONEEEEYYYY!!!

If you like the sound of "cha-ching", then this blog post is for you Mama Bear. I'll give you 3 profitable businesses you can start right now to benefit from the holiday spending...I mean joy(haha). Everything listed below can be adjusted to continue making money all year and as long as you have a computer or phone with an internet connection, you're set. Whooo! Let's get to it!

  1. Etsy Shop: Starting an Etsy shop is not only easy but it can be done with little to no money to begin. During the holidays customized seasonal items such as stockings, t-shirts, and slippers sell shockingly well. Overall items that are customized can be sold at higher prices resulting in higher profits for you. If you're on a budget and don't have access to a t-shirt press or embroidery machine, you've still got options! E-greeting cards can be made using free templates. You can really let your creativity and personality shine here. Be original and authentic and you'll be a hit. Since this is again, a customizable item, you'll get top dollar for it. Keeping with the holiday season, you can find free stock images to use now, and continue selling e-cards year round using the same free sites for other stock images. Brilliant right? This same idea goes for any customized digital product. Tailor it to the time of year and you'll be winning all the time.

  2. Personal Online Shopper: If you're thinking "no one would pay for that", think again. The average personal shopper makes over $32k per year. Now, imagine doing that online with access to endless sites to shop from. See where I'm going with this? To start as a personal shopper you'll need to know how to market yourself. Create a free website to get up and running. Facebook groups are a good place to start looking for clients. Offer to take care of their holiday shopping for them so they can concentrate on other things. When pricing your services, consider how much you want to make an hour to reach your target income amount. Know your rate before offering to potential clients. You can even charge for to do discount and coupon research. Go ahead and get shopping!

  3. Print On Demand Store: This is one of those awesome ideas that can change with occasions, trends, or anything really. Print on demand(PoD) requires no inventory and no trips to the post office to ship orders. You come up with designs and decide what products in the catalog you want to sell. The more creative you are the better. I mean, who doesn't love a good snarky t-shirt or hat? Print on demand stores are also great for marketing to small businesses, local sports teams, work events, meetups...and it just keeps going. You can find print on demand companies by searching for them on Google, but I've personally used Webflow which partners with different credible PoD companies. That's a great starting point to get your creations online. You can sign up for Webflow's free trial to create your print on demand website and get started now.

There are my 3 holiday business idea picks that you can start right now. If you're reading this, you've probably been thinking about starting so now is the time. Plenty of moms just like you are out there starting from scratch too but you got this! Let me know which one you decided to go with in the comments below.
